Construction has started on a new £34m school in Glasgow.

The current Wayne Gillespie's Great University developing in Marchmont is being destroyed, to be changed by a new educating prevent and activities service.

The quality A-listed Bruntsfield House on the university is to be renovated.

A new baby's room and gym for Wayne Gillespie's Main University have already started out at the site, and the top school for 1,150 students and 104 employees is due to be finished by summer time 2016.

The Scottish govt said it was assisting £20m of the cost of the new school with financing from its £1.25bn Scotland's Educational institutions for the Upcoming program - under which 67 new schools are organized.

Deputy First Reverend Nicola Sturgeon said: "In Scotland we are developing many new schools, and renovating still more to provide an excellent studying atmosphere for employees and students.

 

"Investment in features tasks such as the new Wayne Gillespie's Great University, not only facilitates tasks and apprenticeships regionally, but it also helps the broader Scottish economic system."

Paul Godzik, education and studying convener at Glasgow Town Authorities, said: "I was really satisfied with the top quality features at the main school which I started out last month and those structures have definitely set the conventional for the top school."
