Officially Edinburgh Military
Tattoo starts in 1950 in which eight items included in the program and it attracted
6,000 views which was seated around the path of north, south and east sides of
Edinburgh Castle on simple benches with supported structures. In 1952, Edinburgh
Military Tattoo successfully fetched 7,700 viewers night by night and accommodated
160,000 viewers to watch live performance every year. Later the 1970s, viewers
increased over 217,000 to see the live performances on the public walk of
Edinburgh Castle every year and from the last decade it sold out on early
payment(advance). Approximately 30% viewers belong to Scotland and 35% belongs
to Great Britain. The left behind 35% viewers belongs to foreign countries in which
70,000 viewers came to watch. The temporary grandstands of 8,600 capacity which
were used 1975 to 2010 on the castle public walk is changed into new viewersstands included corporate hospitality boxes of £16 million and these new facilities uses from 2011.
