Offering world-class events steeped in Scottish tradition and military history, the Tattoo has delighted and amazed generations of spectators since its inauguration in 1950. This donation will help to support soldiers, veterans and their families in Scotland and elsewhere.

Major General (Retired) Martin Rutledge, Chief Executive Officer of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, said: ABF The Soldiers' Charity is very grateful to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo for its continued support over many years. This important grant allows providing support to the Army family when they need it most.

They may be young families serving families facing sudden mourning or traumatic loss, home adaptations or funding for vocational training and education.

Many injured soldiers will need increasing financial assistance for decades to come and, with the help of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, we will be there to help them every step of the way.

Ruelle Soutar, COO at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, said: As we reflect on another sold-out tattoo season and four incredibly successful performances in Sydney in October, we are delighted to announce this financial support to ABF The Soldiers' Charite.

As always, a significant portion of this year's £1 million donations has gone to organizations that will continue to support and care for veterans, as well as inspire the next generation of musicians and dancers.

We are also passionate about engaging young people in the military and helping to provide stability and provide a launching pad for future generations.

The impact of the Tattoo goes far beyond its annual show and it's a great privilege to be able to support fantastic projects that will make a real difference for people. We are excited to see the results of the donation made to ABF The Soldiers' Charity this year.
