More than 1,500 artists participating in the Royal
Edinburgh Military Tattoo officially left Sydney after huge applause from the
Australian public. The tattoo marked her return to Australia with the
biggest cast in her 69-year history, joining more than hundreds of Australian
floor performers.

Nations
Among the four shows' programming, there were 14
nations from around the world, involving military and civilian artists,
including Papua New Guinea, France, the Cook Islands, the Solomon Islands,
Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
The tattoo theme for Sydney was "At all points
of the compass", which was centered around a daring design on the
playground, inspired by indigenous art and the constellation of the Southern
Cross, used by travelers to navigate the southern hemisphere.
Through their colorful performances, each act has
brought the audience into a full circle around Australia, sharpening
Australia's place in the world, while celebrating the heritage and traditions
of participating nations.

Tattoo, Brigadier David Allfrey MBE, said: "Sydney has been an outstanding
city to host this historic show, and everything in this production has been
extraordinary.
Years in the planning, it was designed to place
Australia and its heritage at the heart of extravagance, with a cast of nearly
1600 and technical support beyond all that we have met before.

all the nations of the Pacific - and our partners have spared no energy or
