Musicians’ Union demands for better deal for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo musicians

The Musicians' Union (MU) is concerned that musicians hired to perform in the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (REMT) band have not been paid for their work. Tattoo fans who want to join this iconic festival can buy Tattoo Tickets 2020 from our most consistent and unfailing online platform.
After liaising with the involved members, the organization engaged in a dialogue with the REMT organizers, informing them that asking musicians to work for free was "unacceptable".

The MU reports that, despite encouraging discussions at the beginning, the REMT organizers have not fully engaged in the discussions, postponing any decision to a committee meeting scheduled for October.

Caroline Sewell, MU Regional Organizer for Scotland and Northern Ireland, said: The Tattoo is an extremely important cultural show, respected around the world and with high-end production values, which are selling to hundreds of thousands of tickets in August.

The idea that the organizers are not able to pay musicians for the delivery of their professional services is incomprehensible, both for the members of the MU and for the broader cultural community, who made themselves, heard at this subject.

The expectation of the musicians who will perform without pay during an event of this magnitude is extremely detrimental and sets a very dangerous precedent.

Dave Webster, MU Live Performance national organizer, said: "It is very disappointing that a company like REMT has not worked more proactively with us to find a solution for this year's event. Given the apparent financial position of the company, we have difficulty understanding their position on this issue."
