Brigadier David Allfrey, CEO and Producer of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo said about that: "In the conventional framework of a military tattoo, we are always looking for a balance between age-old tradition and innovative ideas"
He had said that this year's audience could expect a
lot of tradition "but with a twist".
"Tattooing always tries to stimulate as much
sense as possible: sight, hearing, smell, touch and even taste," he said.
"To do this, we shape production around a
creative framework that inspires military and civilian artists to stretch and
give their best.
"Thanks to the Kaleidoscope, the public can
expect to see the colors come together in an infinite variety of military
formations, groups and folk artists - individually and together moving on the
Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle created a fabulous human mosaic.
"The huge painting, with our grand castle as an
incomparable backdrop, will be framed by lighting, projections, sound, special
effects and state-of-the-art fireworks."
He said it was "the most colorful and prodigal
show of the Tattoo".
